External Rotation of the Hip

Today I’ve got a great exercise to work on external rotation of the hip. This banded hip exercise utilizes active engagement of the hip to make it a more effective exercise when working on external rotation.

Why do we care about external rotation of the hip? The short answer is because we care about squatting. Not just squatting, but squatting well. The squat is important for CrossFit, weightlifting, gymnastics, running, etc., but it is also a fundamental human movement and we could all stand to have better squat mechanics.
