Utilizing a target such as a a ball provides you with feedback to groove good habits. We are using it in this situation to teach the athlete what depth she should be going to on her squat. The ball is perfect because it isn’t big enough for you to sit onto completely – sometimes using a box grooves the bad habit of sitting all the way down before going back up.
Once you are used to hitting that target we are then able to target away once you have created the proper neural grooving to use that depth efficiently.
